Bill looks at a sort of topical ranking mechanism approach with Expansion of Importance Scores for Webpage Rankings – for those of you into the heavy lifting.
So what’s SEO worth to you? Some SEO folks give their perspectives on the true purposes of SEO, from a bottom line view with –What is the SEO Value proposition. I had some feelings on this one, but didn’t have time for a full blown rant, so I shall work on that over the weekend.
I get a lot of questions about working with PPC and SEO in harmony and came across an interesting piece this week called; Integrating SEO and PPC; 3 pitfalls to avoid – which was a good read and well worth brushing up on.
Is that the best U can do? The gang at Search Engine Land had a post about In-house education for Search Marketers – while reasonable, I much preferred my own How to Learn SEO
Paid Links - I am curious about something – Google is giving a thumbs down to paid links, one would assume, because it’s a direct attempt at manipulating the rankings. Ok, wouldn’t reciprocal links be the same? Shouldn’t they be de-indexing sites that have recips? Or asking us to report those recip and 3 way link spam emails we get? What’s the difference? Harrumph…….

So, for a brief moment folks thought that MDOZ was dead, don’t worry it wasn’t, but it sure is fun to watch SEO’s one-up each other. It’s the comments on this post that I enjoyed. Now that’s entertainment!
Microsoft wants a new face(book) – If you didn’t hear yet, MS has been looking at picking up FaceBook. You can get into the bidding as well, if you have say, 10 Billion bucks. … you should have gotten in when it was only 2 Billion .. whaddya thinking? Chris Winfield also had some interesting stuff with Micro Facebook
Google is taking questions - Well hey, just cause I ain’t addicted to clicking on the ‘Sphinn button’ doesn’t mean one can’t glean the odd bit of gold… the real stuff not the fool’s variety don’t ya know. I found this post via the Digg of the SEO world.. cool.... Anyway, have a question for Google? Go ask Adam
