From the Search World -
Universal search - A little late on this one from late September, but it seems Universal Search is coming to Microsofts Live and Microsoft also added SEM services to Office Live -- While were at it, Yahoo! Is playing with Universal search as well
Mine is still bigger than yours Live is saying their index is now 20 Billion pages, though last we heard Google was around 24B
. almost there Live .. er ...ahem
Keep it up!
MS Office goes online - Another key project down the road is integrating Office Live Workspaces with other "Live" products such as Windows Live Hotmail and Windows Live Messenger, so that people will be able to view Office attachments they get via e-mail or IM. Google currently allows Gmail users to open attachments in Google Docs.
Yahoo! Makes us happier? - Compete was putting some theories out on Yahoo! Having better search fulfillment, which Rand had some thoughts on as did John Battelle and it even prompted theLisa to post about Blended Search.
Meta-description Tags - Too many folks seem to think that the meta-description tag is some type useful ranking mechanism whereas I am more inclined to think of it as a tool for conversions. The gang at Google WebMaster Central have some good advice to Improve snippets with meta-descriptions.
...and there we have it, unless I run into some late additions... until next time, play safe!
