Pub-con Vegas 2007 - I know that just about anyone who’s anyone is hanging out over at PubCon this week except yours truly who has an identity crisis and doesn’t know who he is (more on that later). I have no idea why they do this stuff so near Xmas… with young kids (7&5), December is one of my favourite months. I wouldn’t miss any of it… so I must read about all the (ahem) excitement from afar.

Have a Holy-Jolly Pub Con!There is plenty of coverage, but I have been enjoying the work from Lisa Barone (theLisa) and the gang over at Bruce Clay’s Blog. Here are some posts that were of personal interest;

Monetizing Social Media Traffic - I am always up for any discussion that involves non-branding activities with Social Media.

Analytics Tracking Performance - Staying on my recent theme of User Performance Metrics and Personalized Search, analytics will be an important tool for SEO enthusiasts in the future. A good read.

Mutlivariate testing - yet another path to conversions that is of particular interest in the years ahead even in SEO.

Personal and universal - A panel that included our play-pal Bill Slawski, further builds on the Personalized, Universal search and end user metrics. Congrats on that one Mr. B

Duplicate Content - This is an area which I have researched in the past and thus a refresher is always a good idea. I may do some updated coverage on dupes in the near future.

Content Creation - Another aspect that is always important in any SEO campaign, some nice pointers here as well.

Morning Coffee with Matt Cutts - always fun to put ol MC on the hot seat.

Effective Action Based Copywriting - another area that is important in the new world of search. Content can truly be king.

Word of Mout Marketing - for those not in the know, the strongest factor that there is.

I will keep adding to this list as I find things of interest…

    Ahh yes, the rugrats have been having great joy in the snow here as well and it really makes the Holiday Season seem better.

    I also like wearing sweaters more than I remember... it'something about the glint in the missus eye when I do... hee hee....

    Oh..and we hae a nice fireplace.... that helps. Country life.... wouldn't go back to the big city again... I enjoy this speed.

    went to it last year...would have probably gone again if they had it in Nov as in previous years

    there's some good info but it's not a 'must attend' event in my books. the networking side of things is pretty weak - few exhibitors and well...the online crowd isn't the most social

    in my books about the best thing going for it is it's location- a decent event that could be made far better

    yeah I was thinking it is a bit close to Xmas myself like I said. I don't generally get to many conferences and I would likely be firmly planted in the closest watering hole anyways... be more about drinking and shop talk for me.

    Too bad on the social, I guess ya have to be with the 'in crowd' to enjoy the fun...
