Lessons in how NOT to pimp your products... You know I am a pathetic marketer at times… I just get so busy with clients projects that my own endeavours suffer. It is like the anecdote about the shoe maker's kids having tattered shoes, I find it hard to commit the time for my own stuff. A good example is my little eBook; the SEO Handbook. Jeff apparently ‘stumbled upon’ it around 4am and seemed to think it was news worthy and dropped in on IM to congratulate me on the launch. WOW… talk about a soft launch. I actually released the 2008 version (in its second incarnation now) back in early February and outside of some of my normal promotional channels, didn’t make much of a stink about it. And I run a marketing blog – man, I do suck huh? Ok, so for those that are interested I am making my big stink – the SEO Handbook 2008 is here!!  Part of the reason I don’t overtly promote it here, (beyond being uber busy) is because it is truly a starter guide to SEO – and most of my readership are more advanced. It began life as a handout for our clients to ensure that they grasped the concepts and processes involves in search engine optimization. Some cohorts thought that I should polish it up and try selling it – and so it was born.
White Label Version What is new this year is a white label version for SEOs and Web developers. Another request I had over year one was for a branded version that SEO and Web design companies could use as a hand-out for THEIR clients, much as I had done in the early days with it. Once more, I haven’t finished putting up that offering, so do get in touch if your interested in that program What’s next? My goal was to create a series of handbooks that were smaller publications, each defined to specific areas. This makes it a lighter read, less expensive and offers the ability to study only the areas you may be weak in. My initial research showed many folks wanted a less expensive and less expansive book as they can be overwhelming to the noob. Later this year I hope to publish; - SEO Handbook; Keyword/Phrase research edition
