TheGypsy's Not-So-Elite Retreat
I tell ya, I am getting jealous. It seems like more and smaller SEO and internet marketing seminars are popping up all the time. Or ‘Small is the new Big’ as Lee Odin put it. Call me a slow adopter, but I don’t even have a newsletter at the moment - cause ya’ll just want more of my ramblings I’m sure – never mind a seminar. Along the  same lines it seems SEO Schools and Certification courses are all the rage as well. I know this market is desperate as I have had no less than 4 offers to date. And I am not entirely sure I am going in that direction either.
I can see the value in some of these seminars from the participant’s end of things. I know with myself, there is far more one can get out of me with a few pints and a smile than ever possible on a forum or instant messenger. Certainly the walls may not have ears, but outside of that… I am somewhat protective of much of my professional information. I hope with the cost of some of these new offerings, some of that ‘secret sauce’ is being passed around.
So what’s a guy to do?
Why start my own of course. 'TheGypsy's Not-So-Elite Retreat'. Mine is much simpler though you see; If you’d like a weekend of madness and shop talk… then here’s all U need to do;
- Email me and say “Dave – I am tired of the BS and want to know the straight goods!”
- Drag your backside to the little hole in the wall that is the town I live in.
- Bring refreshments… Beer is fine, this is Canada... we start on it as babes, eh.
- Make sure your head is screwed on tight. No pretenders allowed (gotta have the passion)
- Operate on little sleep. Some hard core 17hr days are in line.. no sleep for the wicked.
- Pass the knowledge on to another SEO of respect and passion
And that’s pretty much it. No need for $$… that’s just the kinda guy I am. If you survive ‘TheGypsy’s Not-So-Elite Retreat’, with your sanity and faculties intact, we have achieved SEO Nirvana which shall propagate its own Fruits.
Appearing at the conference will be… er.. uh… Me. That’s how I keep the costs down you know. Considering I just came up with this bodacious idea, I was the only one I could get on short notice. I can talk enough for many people tho - no worries.
Accommodations; No need for a hotel, and that's a good thing because there isn't one in my town. You shall spend 2 days and nights at our quaint country home and be awakened with all of the graces of a Drill Sargeant to begin another days efforts.
Be sure to book early as (I expect) spots are going fast. Ok, sure, there have been no sign-ups or interested parties at this point, but I am expecting HUGE things from the series. Who wouldn’t want to sit around sipping spirits and learn the secrets of search here in the middle of bloody no-where? What do they call it in the travel game? Picturesque? Yes that's it....
Sad and lonely
Yes, in the end it is simply a pathetic attempt to meet new friends and get some one to by the drinks for a weekend, but a fella has got to try now don’t he? So adopt an SEO for the weekend... you'll make your mamma proud....
