I am not generally a big fan of the concept known as 'the sandbox' - to that end, slowly but surely I have begun to rant on it more than usual. It may be by pet peeve of 2007 - we'll see.
I myself am not a believer of the mythical beast known far and wide as 'the sandbox' effect. The rabid followers of this cult seem to make up definitions at a whim and there is absolutly consisency as to what qualifes as being part of the SB effect. That's where my issues with it begin... non-sensical definitions.
I am sure I will be comming across more SB debates... but for now - here's entry #1.
" am not a believer in the mythical 'sand box' it's followers are intense though.. kinda like 'the cult of PR'. Sure, there are a variety of factors and situations that give an appearance of such, but U are not LOCKED in....
So do not wait for anything.. get the on-site work done and continue link building... once you have reached a certain level - rankings will start to climb.
I compared it the other day to a brick and mortar in that - would you expect a new B&M to make a million in the first few months? No...you need to get the word out.
That's what back links are. You can't expect to rank for popular terms with a new site in a short period of time... Work on some long tail targets and be sure to get deep back links not just the home page "
