I understand what you meant. I also felt surprise when Shoemoney mentioned 95% of SEO are slimy and incompetent...For me, the estimates where a bit too high..I know there are other SEO experts that pretend they know a lot when in fact they only knew the basics but still I didn't agree with Shoe...I think it would have been better if he just said "a lot" and not "95%".

Good stuff as usual Dave. I'm thinking that 95 figure is even higher, so I actually agree with shoe on that. (agreeing with him is amazing in and of itself) :-) I get a kick out of watching and reading the industry. It reminds me of my school days when the bell rang for recess and we all ran outside. All of us tried our best to be the center of attention in those days. I think this social media stuff is making things worse in that regard. Just had a thought about that; I'm wondering what the median age is of SEO's who actually jump right in to social media and work it 10 hours a day? I'm thinking if you separated the SEO's who don't and the SEO's who do, you would find the age of the doer's much younger. just a thought.

Hi Michael…. Thanks for noticing my penchant for affixing a noose around my noodle here now and again. As even Jeremy said in the broadcast, I too only started a blog as a cathartic adventure and a platform to rant from. It has grown from that over the 2 years I have been at it, but my roots are always near… he he… As for the industry, I have already had peers that suggested that Jeremy wasn’t helping the situation, but I tend to think maybe he is. Possibly…just maybe… we should be talking about this. I would prefer a sensible dialogue over the fire and brimstone personally and this could be an early step towards some further legitimacy for the industry as a whole.

So many SEO people are social media people, jsut with different online personalities. I actually hired one linkbaiter that is also a totally different seo guy. How I found out ( I'm not faulting him) is I had him called by a partner and then I got on the phone with him. I think the entire industry needs to take a look at itself. Social media is rising and being gamed and revolts orchestrated constantly now. These stirrings are a good thing as controversy attracts attention and the old saying of there be no media attention that is bad is true. Jeremy voiced what I believe as well, though there are a lot of good people in the industry. Dave - come on, Drama can also be fun if you are an observer at least. You have had some awesome rants and great observations on this site. That's what I like about you, you just say it without worrying about who is reading or watching your moves.
