Making merry with Twitter avatars

Well it’s that time of year again and thanks to Twitter, a tradition continues.

Ok, not really talking Dickens or anything, but seemingly a tradition none-the-less. You see last year whilst hanging around Sphinn, some peeps wanted to spunk up their avatars for the holiday season. Seeing that my sheltered life affords me time so play, it was used up making goodiness and brighten up the place with some holiday cheers was a blast.

This year Shana, one of the original architects last time out, mentioned it and so the second annual ‘Merry Up Your Avatar’ was revived – this time on Twitter.

Here’s some that have been done so far (and Twitter profiles for those looking for more great follows);

Now, I was tthinking it would be a good idea in the future to set up some sort of donation system to get a few $$ for the needy, maybe next holiday - for now, avatar outfits are FREE!

So watcha waiting on? Get festive and dress up your avatar… want one made for ya? Feel free to hook up with theGypsy on Twitter or contact me through the site – can’t guarantee anything, but time permitting I’d be happy to do one…

Happy holidays to all…

You almost have enough pictures for a little contest.
  • JMorris
I don't think it would be much of a contest. That picture of Matt screams, "I'm drunk as f**k and I don't give a sh*t!"

Hey, David! Can you score me a higher resolution copy of that pic? I want to use it on my Christmas cards this year! :silly:
  • Dave

    Dave:

Nice avatar work! I was inspired to do one myself. Slapdash in GIMP, but not too bad considering: http://twurl.nl/ly2f5q

Feel free to post here if you want too.

This thing is taking on a life of it's own!

You should make this a yearly tradition. Get a couple more people involved who can Photochop and just make it a big avatar party!
  • Dave

@James as I was saying, be nice to get a few peeps together and donate the time and try and get donations ... sooo many things it could be used for...
  • Melanie Nathan
Since I got my festive avatar... my "elf" esteem has really improved :)
  • Mel
Hey Dave what a blast this is - too bad there is no way that you could turn my sourish picture into something Yuleish - or is it possible?
