Twit for hire

Are TwitterWhores the wave of the future?

 ..so I was following TechCrunch’s unhealthy obsession with Scoble selling out. This time around it’s not about him selling ad space on his blog, but actually Twitter related;

he’s experimenting with Twittering adverts for perennial sponsor Seagate. He later twittered “I am just having a little fun getting a conversation about microblog advertising going”

This all made me uneasy and being typographically challenged I created this;

Twit for hire

… is that where it’s headed?

Great post and hilarious cartoon.

Seriously IT IS going that way. The issue is you need to develop a following that wants to hear what you have to say. If you've done that I think they will accept certain amounts of ads like that. Obviously some will have higher thresholds then others and you need to find the perfect ratio. That being said I think it's already starting to happen.

Well, those are REAL Tweets, so it is happening..but what of less than transparent discosures? How does one know?

sigh... someone always pisses in the pool...

That pisses me off. They get unfollowed immediately if I catch it.

I use twitter for conversations. I'm pretty sure Scoble doesn't converse with his thousands of scoble fan boys.

Same... occassionally nice for news, more of chit chat toy for me... but will it get abused as usual?

It's the Pay-per-post for Social Networks

I am amazed at what you can do with one hand Dave. Great work.

As for commercial tweeting and product placement... it was only a matter of time really. That's what happens when critical mass and awareness are achieved.

lol... getting pretty good with the mouse inmy left hand so Photoshop was easier than typing.. he he...

... ultimately monetization always creeps in.. at least we can unsubscribe

I just don't get the whole "twit" thing from the get go..

Hopefully, I will figure it out..

In the meantime...

I have to run...
